Here is a quick resource for determining the proper
sized violin or viola for your child.

Measure down the arm in a straight line from the
neck to the center of the left palm.

Remember, the correct instrument size will help the
young student to learn effectively. Try to resist the
urge to "size up" to the next level. Most instrument
shops have a very simple policy of trading up to the
next level of instrument with the least amount of
hassle.
